Tuesday 8th February
A lovely sunny day, the ones we usually get in February that come completely out of the blue. Surprisingly only four of us turned up to the Sports Centre for the Health Walk, Helen, Fiona, Mary and I, Michael.
We walked through the woods to the corner of the field above the lake and then down to the corner of the wood and through Dog Kennel Wood. We emerged from the wood and walked north along the cycle track, over the bridge, continuing along the cycle track up the hill and then into the wood whose name I don't know, the wood which the education exercises use for monsters. Up the steps onto the path round the lake where we were lucky enough to see the Great Crested Grebes facing up to each other however they separated and swam away from each other.
Here we're watching the grebes who were at the north end of the island.
The Canada Geese seemed to be all paired of, these two weren't half kicking up a racket, must not have been able to agree who was the boss
Helen, Fiona and Mary discussing books.
We went right round the lake and back up the hill through the gate and along the path past the 'Ponderosa'.
Afterwards we relaxed in the Sports Centre and discussed a variety of topics, diets or rather sensible eating and good habits, when to watch television and the programmes we found ourselves watching, how can we get more people to take part etc..
I wore the pedometer that the Sports Centre had given us and recorded over 9,000 steps.
