We assembled at the Sports Centre in shorts and shirt sleeves looking forward to a walk in the sunshine. Gaz was waiting for us and we set off in good time.
He was going to take us somewhere different but not quite sure which way we would go once we got to the Barn.
We left the Asda car park and followed the path to the left, through the woods and into the farm field. We down to the lake.
The Canada Geese were back in strength, for ages I've only see a few round the lake.
Leaving the lake we went down the steps. We were quite stretched out at this point. We crossed the picnic area and spotted one of Ruth's classes coming down to the river
We left the river and walked up towards the Barn. 3rd Photo - Gaz, Jacquie, Carole, Helen, Mary, Jim & June - me, Michael inset.
At the top of the hill we met Irene out in the sunshine. Diverting through the Pinetum we walked past the Barn, and left along Shady Lane.
We left Shady Lane walking across the hay field on to Town Brow. We entered the Park before the bridge, crossed the river by the stepping stones, along the cycle route and up along the path into Gravel Hole Wood. We climbed over the stile into the field and tramped up the field, crossed Cam Lane into the woods and back to the Sports Centre.
We had our tea/coffee and biscuits in one of the squash courts. Everyone enjoyed the experience. The walk was a few minutes shorter than last Tuesdays but very rewarding.
