Tuesday 26th July
Yet another lovely day, has summer arrived at last. Conditions were almost ideal - dry and sunny but it did get a little warm towards midday.
We were all agreeable to try the route planned by Michael again, this time sticking to the plan. There were six of us: Gaz (Sunday name Gareth) the leader, Jacquie, Helen, June, Jim and Michael. Carole is in Hong Kong and Mary was at a wedding. We'd love for more of you to come and join us!
The first stop, 19 minutes into the walk.
The dog bin from the other side today
It's not just the walking, it's the exchange of views, opinions and news.
One of the nicest views, 42 minutes.
Kem Mill at last after 52 leisurely minutes. We had a well deserved rest here, about 9 mins. I was timing the sections of the walk and rest periods to help planning new combinations of paths for the future.
We met lots of people and some groups of children. At Kem Mill there was this group of children playing supervised games. Under the bridge there were another two girls playing in the river watched by grandad.
Walking back along the cycle track this tractor driver appeared to be lost?
Nearby there were two more tractors gathering up the hay. The black bags don't look as romantic as the hay being prepared for gathering when we were children.
We climbed up into Gravel Hole Wood, up through the field and after one hour and fifty minutes we arrived back at the Sports Centre for our refreshments.
In the afternoon Maureen and David went out into the Park Planning Thursday's Health Walk from the Barn.
