Thursday 19th April - today we had an 'experimental' Health Walk. A number of people from the Chorley and South Ribble Breathe Easy Group, a British Lung Foundation support group, tried their legs and lungs to see if they could join one of our Health Walks.
We arranged to meet at 2.00pm today.
Here we are deciding who will go on which walk. Sue elected to take Anne and Vic to the Viewing Platform in the Pinetum - Route 4.
Tu Lung Su, Mavis, Rene and Peter elected to try Route 1!
Despite the threat of rain we all had a lovely dry walk, everyone coping with the hills and distance. Peter already is a Health Walker and soon, Su, Mavis and Rene will be too. There were all of birds singing away as we walked round the Park. We saw a Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Blue Tits, Great Tits and many more which we couldn't identify. We also several volunteers working hard in the Walled Orchard.
Su also volunteered to join the Sunday Tea Shop volunteers.
A successful day. Thanks to Ruth, aka Lady Catherine aka our Education Officer, who made it all possible
