Health Walk

Thursday 7th February -  Walking from the Barn today there were fourteen of us.  Dry, overcast but no wind.  Rain was forecast but we didn't get any.

Bernadette led the walk with Peter as Back Marker.  Carmel supervised the short cuts.  We had two new walkers, Anne and Gwen.

We started out from the Barn and walked down to the Stone Bridge, red route, across the picnic area and up on to the side of the lake.  At the boathouse the main group carried on alongside the Lake but Carmel's group took the short cut and walked up into Dog Kennel Wood.  The main group walked up the steps and then back down to the entrance to Dog Kennel Wood to catch up with the splinter group, which we did just before the New Bridge.  Up through the Pinetum and to the Barn for our tea/coffee and biscuits where we related tales of motoring escapades.

Meanwhile Ruth and Elizabeth were pond dipping with a group of school children.
