Tuesday 26th February- All the photos are from around the same time last year
I couldn't get to the Sports Centre Health Walk on Tuesday because I had to take Suzie to hospital to give blood for a blood test. I didn't want to miss out on walking so I set off from our house in the afternoon to walk over the Moss, Farington Moss that is.

Last week I heard the skylarks singing but it was much colder and dull so I didn't hear them. The only birds I recognised today where pied wagtails.

Entering the Farington Lodges, a lovely area, which despite living in Leyland all my 74 years, I only found four or five years ago!

This is a sculpture that we accidentally witnessed being unveiled with a few dignitaries present - it was quite amusing to watch the sycophancy - a day, like today, when I didn't have my camera.
The walk - around seventy-five minutes.
Most of the scenery isn't obviously interesting but there's lots going on all year round and lots of wildlife. I have photos taken later in the year which show an abundance of flora.
Half of it is on the roadside but at least I didn't have to drive the car to start walking. |
