Fifteen today and, as is usual on Thursdays, we had a shorter walk within the larger loop.

Bernadette led us off into the Pinetum and down to the New Bridge

As we reached the Cycle Track it was decision time. Six of us elected to do the shorter walk and set off along the Cycle Track towards the Stone Bridge. The rest of us followed Bernadette up into Gravel Hole Wood and Dog Kennel Wood.
As you can see it was misty and surprisingly felt cold, not just me most of us.

We dropped down to the Lake, round the western edge, the dam, and down to the Stone Bridge. A short pause for discussion as to which way to go and we walked off to the north

A surprise photo that I found on my camera (today it was my mobile)! You're looking up at me.

Approaching the Nature Reserve (sometimes called the Scramble Track) where we entered Cock Cabin Wood.

Blackthorn, sorry it's not quite in focus.

All the greenery on the bushes on the north side of the Cycle Track is Lichen, not hawthorn leaves as we thought on Tuesday, again sorry this is not quite in focus.
Home down the Cinder Path to the waiting refreshments
