Wednesday 9th January - Happy New Year everyone.
First garden photos this year. The winter Jasmine against the back fence, the most flowers we've ever had, the garden continues to surprise.
The derelict boxes after the winter frosts. Sodden magnolia leaves and other leaves, the garden is too saturated to venture on and the weather is too miserable to work in the garden.

Everything is late this year? Must be the cold weather.
I trimmed the hawthorn down even further than the contractor who had not cut enough off - it's surrounded by ivy.

This is on the other side of the drive to the photo above. This was our first clump of snowdrops, I think later than last year, and I was afraid we'd lost all our snowdrops but by today all the others had appeared, see below.
There are many more in the back below
The daffodils beginning to show. We had many lovely yellow crocuses
You can just see the garria, which I've failed to photograph and the fungi on the eucalyptus stump

What's this flower under the old berberis stump in the front garden?

Working in the shade, too hot in the sunshine, this is approximately the middle of our three weeks fine weather.

Lots of our plants are gift fom ohter people's gardens. This Tiger Lily was given to us by Michael's Auntie May when we moved in along with may others.
Cousin Alison gave us this from her uncle's garden in the midlands.
