The 6th and 7th races in the Summer Series for the Lune
Trophy took place on Sunday.
The wind was mainly westerly and varied from F4 to F5.
Our top class Blaze helmsmen, Mark and Nick sharing the honours. Nick
won the first race and Mark the second. Ivan and Frank were worn out
after the long first race and the wind had freshened so didn’t
compete in the second leaving it to the two young, well relatively young,
Ivan is 69 and Frank 71.
Giles had only just returned from holiday and Andy is abroad supporting
Robert who is sailing for Great Britain in the RYA youth team (something
like that, details later).
Martin and David Sharples (Suzi) were out practicing for the
full two hours. Sammy is back at work but she won’t be able to
race again this season.
Ian and Barbara Sharples were enjoying themselves in the reefed GP14,
Rebecca had a sail in Nick’s Blaze and Ian took Jessica out in
the GP for a while.
The wind was too strong to tempt others on the water.
I did the Rescue Boat with help from Rebecca and Jessica.
