Social Sailing Saturday 10th MayBack to Dinghy Homepage Today should have been the third evening set of races for the Conder Trophy but no one turned up to race. However several dinghies took to the river. Full of enthusiams after the morning Junior session some of the participants decided to go for a sail on the river. The sun was still shining and there was a breath of wind, just enough for steerage. Peter Booth set off first in his newly restored GP14, Bobby's Girl. Next was Anne Bourner & Paul Cassidy in their Comet Verso and Alison Rayson in her Comet sailing upstream. Ivan Haslam & Michael Speight followed in Ivan's Wayfarer, Slap Happy. Close behind were Bryan Sadler, Mirror, and Michael Swarbrick, Topper. Ivan & Michael got to the pylons but Bryan and Michael were a few metres short. Anne & Paul sailed up and down the river from the clubhouse to the river Conder entrance as did Alison. I'm not sure where Peter went.
