2009 Lighthouse & Spring 1

Sunday 29th March

A completely different day from Saturday - warm sunshine and light winds.

Many thanks to Doug Gorton, Mick Bull and Alan Round who all volunteered to do the Rescue Boat. I actually did it as I was assisting Michael in his West Eleven.

Mick The Other Woman was the only cruiser to launch and race. As well as Michael West Eleven, Nick Blaze, David GP14, Ian & Barbara GP14, Chris Mirror, Andy Graduate, David Comet and John Penny Diamond in his new Enterprise - Penny Diamond II, launched their dinghies for the Dinghy Lighthouse Race. It also counted as the first race in the Spring Series.

Making his debut as a dinghy racer in his Enterprise John romped home to win his first single-handed race.

Unfortunately one of Michael's shround chain plates broke, which brought an end to his sailing.

Jessica Chablis assisted me in the Rescue Boat.

Thanks to Alison for the loan of her Comet, thanks.

Mick won the cruiser race!
