The 2011 Nateby Trophy and 1st Frostbite Sunday
Sunday 2nd October 2011 - Glasson Sailing Club
After the last few days we were all hoping for another summer's day but it was a bit cooler and damp.
There were several boats on the water, which is a heartening sight for members who enjoy seeing activity around the Club.
Jetwind returning form Piel
Aurora returning from a night on the sands
Martin and Sammy in their RS400 - the overall winners
Martin & Sammy again
Robin, OK, second in both races and second overall
Jack Seed trying out his inflateable. Jack wasn'tracing but followed the others round the course in the first race
Jack and Robin again
Ivan on his Laser, third overall
David Blenkinship sailing his Solution. David pretended that he wasn't racing but I timed him in the first race
Anthony and Ben in their Yachting World Dayboat, Jetwind in the background.
Ian & Barbara leading the two Martins but it wasn't to last long, the Martins with their new sails soon got in front.
Ian & Barbara again
Martin & Sammy two legs ahead
The course favoured the RS400, the were able to fly their spinnaker on three of the five legs.
The wind was coming from the south or south south east, which made it difficult to choose a course, however the sailors didn't complain.
We ran the races without the Patrol Boat which is bad practice - there must be someone out there who would like to man the Patrol Boat?
