The 2011 Regatta - The William Mitchell Memorial Trophy
Sunday 29th August 2011 - Glasson Sailing Club
Saturday 27th was the day we raced round the lighthouse but it was windy so only three dinghies and two dayboats took part.

Dinghy Lighthouse Race
Winner - Michael Gill – Topper – Abbey Light Trophy (Large)
1st Crewed Boat – Ian & Barbara Sharples – GP14 - Abbey Light Trophy (Small)
Sunday 28th was even windier so no dinghies or dayboats took to the water. A 40 knot gust was recorded on Ocean Phoenix during the cruiser race.
Monday 29th. The wind had ameliorated somewhat but still some sailors didn't take to the water
A course was set for the dinghies ( Gp - Bp - 18s - CLUBs x 3 & 2 laps) and a different one for the dayboats (Cs - 18s - CLUBs x 2 laps) but they all started the first race at the same time.
For the second race it was agreed to all race on the same course, the same as for the fisrt dinghy race, 3 laps & 2
The second race was interesting in that Anthony and Kath in their YW Dayboat came second on corrected time ahead of the dinghies of Ian and Michael.

The sun sets on another Glasson Sailing Club Regatta. Another very enjoyable weekend, the wind was a bit disappointing for the dinghies, but those taking part thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
