Well after much agonising I accepted the challenge and wheeled the lorry wheel across the sands to it's new position on Friday 3rd May 2013. Here I am checking the wheel with Ivan on Saturday 4th, after two tides since positioning.
It took me about and hour yesterday, rolling for 30 seconds and resting for 60 seconds. Sue said "How can you do these things when you're always tired at home?"
C. I had my camera so I took the opportunity to photograph all the buoys on the Club shore, mainly to remember what risers I'd put on them.
D
I was too exhausted to walk out to E, this is by telephoto. A much neglected mark
I'm not sure what kind of anchor A has but B, C, D and E all have lorry wheels. The design was given to me by Ribble Cruising Club.
S has a concrete balance weight from a tractor or similar vehicle, well it's a flat square concrete block
This is roughly where we're going to put F, at the entrance or just seaward of the entrance to Lades Creek.
Looking towards the Club from B
A 'merged view, four photos of the estuary from D.
Looking out to sea at the buoys on this side, all except E, which is round the corner. The can in the foreground is nowt to do with the dinghy sailors.
The marks on the 4th May but F is still in the OOD box and needs putting out.
