Ivan & Mick recovering the Patrol Boat
We arrived full of trepidation but the wind was fine, S F2-3. It was overcast but quite warm.
Later we did get the occasional flash of sunshine, it turned into a pleasant afternoon.
Steve was concerned that a ship may be about to sail so we set a course on the south side of the river for the first race: Cp - Es - Ds - Ss 3 & 2 Laps, again a departure from our usual courses.
There was some confusion over the course, Owen thought Michael'd told him to head for the lighthouse after C, which was correct but not go to the lighthouse.
Nevertheless Owen won the first race by an average of 3 seconds per lap just ahead of Michael
Where has all the grass gone?
We set a new course for the second race: As - 18s - Ss and agreed to race until 1255 hours, we were running out of time so we thought it best to finnish before HW+1.
We managed 4 and 5 laps, Owen winning again this time 8 seconds clear of Michael, above
Owen is now leading the series - so far the best four races to count.
