Notes for VisitorsGLASSON SAILING CLUB 2006
• The tide flows strongly on both flood and ebb. There is virtually no slack at high water. At high water the ebb usually starts on the club side of the river. None of this information is guaranteed to be correct on any one day and is for guidance only. • Sea breeze is from the West and usually sets in from about 11.00am reaching Force 4 to 5 occasionally in afternoons. • It is advisable to launch early. Please use left hand side of slip for boats down and right hand side for trailers up. Don't leave your boat unattended for too long - water rises fast. • Traffic lights or flags, or both, may be used for starting signals (with hooter) at the O.O.D.'s direction (see course board). • Beware of getting far downtide of start line - you will find it takes a long time to get back. It may be necessary to walk your boat along the shore into the tide to avoid this. • Start - Finish Lines. PLEASE NOTE that we often have INNER and OUTER LIMIT MARKS • All competitors are STRONGLY ADVISED to carry a PADDLE and/or ANCHOR. • General Sailing Instructions start overleaf. • Any queries or problems please contact the O.O.D. |
