Message from Alex Ratcliffe, our Facilities Manager:

Thank you very much to all Working Party Volunteers for making the weekend (Saturday & Sunday 26th & 27th February) such a success. The amount of work got through was unbelievable.

The jobs you have done are as follows.

EXTERIOR

Fitted safety gate on jetty Fitted netting on fence leading to jetty.
Fitted spreader brackets and spreaders on flag mast.
Primed, undercoated and glossed flag mast.
Secured mast tabernacle to concrete base.
Glued wood spacers on all panels of winch cover to stop flexing.
Winch guard bolted in position.
Cemented around base of OOD. box.
Painted exterior steelwork of OOD. box.
Fitted 2 base unit cupboards and worktop in OOD. box.
Cleaned all plastic exterior and windows of clubhouse.
Dug out all grass and weeds from paths.
Both sides of slipway strimmed.
Made 2 plinths for anchor and buoy.
Painted and lettered buoy.
Dug out ground behind green container.
Removed all chains and timber from sides of slip.
Main gate sign stripped of previous lettering.
Fitted new cable on club welder.
All litter etc., picked up from club grounds.
Dingy trailer and camping area cleared of overgrown bushes etc.

 

 

 

 

INTERIOR

Lounge windows and frames cleaned, woodwork repainted, ceiling vents cleaned.
Storeroom cleared and cleaned.
Galley walls and ceiling painted.
Ovens, microwaves, ‘fridges cleaned.
Passage walls and ceiling to toilets painted.
Ladies and Gents changing rooms painted.
Tiles and fittings cleaned in toilets.
Library windows, frames and fittings cleaned.
Food and drink laid on Sat and Sun.

There are two large jobs planned for this summer.
The patrol boat garage roof needs replacing and the television room needs decorating.
Volunteers would be welcome for these tasks.
