On May 3rd Sabine, owner and solo skipper Edwin Dewhurst, left towards Ramsey, intending to get as far North as he can over the next thirty days, hopefully the Hebrides. He has thirty litres of home brew on board which he'll ration to one litre a day. Edwin is a member of the Trailer Sailing Association and regularly sails off for the months of May and August. Sabine is a forty year old Bell wooden 18 foot Seagull. Edwin has had Sabine for 20 years and in that time he has covered over thirteen thousand sea miles in her.
At the moment all I've got are a few pictures of Edwin leaving. He got back safely is all I know.
In the next close season Edwin is going to spend an evening with us showing slides and talking about his exploits (Anne please, if you get the chance, talk to Norman about this). That promises to be a very entertaining and educational evening.
