Sunday March 13th - Another lovely sunny day, this time we'd arranged to visit Lloyd's Mum in Bolton. Drama! The little Tootlepip car, Trudie and Jaja's name for our Agila, wouldn't start! The battery was flat! We, inadvertently, had left the back door slightly open.
Bill, next door, came to the rescue and with jump leads we started the car.
We shot off to pick Trudie and Co. up but when nearly there, Sue said we've forgotten the flowers! We carried on because we were late but then Trudie sent us back for them.
Jenny and Gerry had just come home from Portugal where they had spent the winter.
We arrived, only half an hour late, but lunch wasn't ready, Jenny had planned a later start time because Tony and Akiel where coming a little later.
After a lovely lunch, with the sun still shining Jenny and Gerry took myself, Sue and Trudie on a walk into Moses Gate Country Park. Lloyd, Jaja, Tony and Akiel stayed at Jenny and Gerry's, Jaja & Akiel making music, Jaja had brought his guitar.
Gerry and Sue - Jenny and Trudie
Crossing the river Croal and the weir downstream from the lake, way round to the left in the second photo.
After sitting in the sun by the lake we walked round the lake and retraced our steps. We climbed up a steep gradient to the Bolton end of the Manchester, Bury and Bolton canal. Sorry no pictures - I'd left my camera in the car and there was no more space on Sue's phone. We walked along the canal with the deep gorge on our right, until we came to a bridge over the canal and then, with the sun low in the sky, ambled back to Jenny and Gerry's through a maze of houses.
