Only six this morning, which was a further surprise for a Thursday, we were down to eight last Thursday, the lowest number since December 2010 when there were only three. It was raining, perhaps why so few had turned up. Michael was leading today. Sue elected to do a short walk into the Pinetum and round the Hall.
Again the conditions didn't encourage photography and I apologise for the lack of sharpness.
We took the Route 4, as detailed in the manual, clockwise, which meant starting along Sue Ryder's Drive and the Cinder Path. As we arrived at Cock Cabin Wood we were delighted to find the Iris were out and the fish were jumping

We're now coming out of the small wood adjacent to the Nature Reserve.

Walking across the Picnic Area the meadow flowers are bursting out.

The Rhododendrons are flowering contrasting with the May Blossom and the many greens.

It's unusual to find an active fisherman, wading in the water, casting and reeling in.

It really is raining hard, the footpaths are flooded! Only joking, this sign has found its way into the water under the New Bridge

A moment in time, Lady Catherine, soaking wet by the look of it, and our esteemed Mr Leigh, the Head Gardener, leading the young apprentices. (Ruth, David & Michael were the three who walked in December 2010)
Despite the rain we all enjoyed our walks
