Health Walks 2011

Description and why you should walk.

Thursday 22nd December - 2011's the winter solstice.  Once again we had a lovely warm sunny morning for our Health Walk from the Barn. David Beattie was our leader . . . . .

Tuesday 20th December - Today the Health Walk was from the Sports Centre, the last one this year . . . .

Tuesday 13th December - We gathered at the Sports Centre; today there were ten of us plus Gareth, our leader.  It was windy but fortunately the sun was shining so we were all in good spirits. . . . .

Tuesday 6th December - Heavy showers during the night after a few miserable showery days so we weren't very optimistic as we set out from the Sports Centre on our regular Tuesday Health Walk.

Tuesday Morning 29th November - from the Sports Centre.  Eight of us today including Gareth.  We had a new 'member': Eileen.  We were concerned about the promised rain . . . .

Thursday 24th November - from the Barn.  We had a better turnout today with nine walkers plus David and Ruth.  We had three new 'members': Joyce, Mike & Tricia.

Tuesday Morning 22nd November - Dry but not sunny - We were slightly; down in numbers today but we were pleased that Carole could join us . . . . .

Tuesday Morning 15th November - Dry and sunny and reasonably warm.  We had a good turnout today and we were joined by another Elizabeth!  Nine plus Gaz without regulars, Jacquie an Carole.
Gaz led us into the Park, we walked . . . .

Tuesday Morning 8th November - Twas a dull day again but not to be deterred we all met at the Sports centre.  Today we were leaderless . . . .

Tuesday Morning 1st November - The forecast last night wasn't good but we woke up to a lovely day and surprisingly there were only four of us turned up at the Sports Centre and one of those was a new walker, Elizabeth.
We set off into the Park, Green Wood, and walked along the top path northwards . . . .

Thursday 27th October - Health Walk from the Barn led by Maureen.  We decided to venture into . . . .

Tuesday Morning 18th October - Well we didn't hold out much hope for the walk to take place but eight of us turned up and there would have been more but for misunderstandings.

Tuesday 11th October 2011 - rain, rain and more rain! . . .

Tuesday 9th August 2011 - Health Walk from the Sports Centre.  It looked very menacing as we gathered for the walk but the forecast was correct . . . .

Tuesday 2nd August - Health Walk from the Sports Centre.  Waking up to heavy showers - will it rain on us today?  . . . .

Tuesday 26th July - Yet another lovely day, has summer arrived at last.  Conditions were almost ideal - dry and sunny but it did get a little warm towards midday.  We were all agreeable to try the route planned by Michael again ....

Tuesday 12th July - We entered the Park and went to the left, down and then climbing up to Cam Lane.  We walked along Cam Lane, past the Ponderosa and into the field walking down to the lake. ..........

Tuesday 5th July - The forecast said rain but the optimists met at the Sports Centre.  .....

Tuesday 28th June 2011 - We assembled at the Sports Centre in shorts and shirt sleeves looking forward to a walk in the sunshine. Gaz was waiting for us and we set off in good time. ........

Tuesday 10th May - Today's Health Walk took place this morning from Clayton Green Sports Centre.  Our leader, Gaz, decided that we'd walk in the opposite direction to the way we have been doing. .....

28th April 2011 - Seven of us turned up for today's Health Walk, would you believe it: another lovely day! .....
