Eight of us assembled at the Barn. Peter was today's leader, his first challenge for some time as he's been unable to walk because of his back, which is now tolerable again.
Sue was reluctant to walk but Carmel persuaded her to try. They kept to the upper level, no hills, walked round the Hall, down the drive to Shady Lane and back to the Barn up Berkeley Drive - blue route on the map.
Peter led us down to the Stone Bridge and south along the Cycle Track.

A short way along he stopped at the stream, marked Drain on the map and pointed out the tadpoles. At first glance they were no different that a few weeks ago but if you looked carefully you can see they have developed back legs, Photo 2, and sometime come to the surface for air.
Ruth and Elizabeth were 'educating' a group of boisterous school children.
We entered Gravel Hole Wood and progressed into Dog Kennel Wood coming out at the Lake. We decided to walk round the Lake, over the Dam, and down to the Picnic Area. At the Stone Bridge we had another 'meeting' and carried on up into Cock Cabin Wood.

Watching for the fish to jump, there were several plops so they were jumping.

Waiting for the last three to catch up before we set off down the Cinder Path and back to the Barn.
It was Sue's birthday so we all enjoyed the cakes she had brought - we left a few left for the Thursday crew.
