Seven of us today, Carol W, Elizabeth M, Helen, Jim, June, Michael and Sandy.
Helen was cajoled into leading and she took us off round the back and down the Cinder Path.
We walked round Cock Cabin Pond and down to the Stone Bridge.

Here we paused for photograph, unusual because Michael is usually behind the camera - I came out in a rush and forgot mine so thanks to Sandy for taking these.
We walked on to the far corner and climbed up the steps to the Lake.

We paused at the top of the steps to watched the birds, looking for any newcomers. There were two Great Crested Grebes but we couldn't pick out any visitors. The Grebes were too far away to be photographed but these two Canada Geese obliged.
Here we were curious to see what the tree cutting of last week was so we carried on round the Lake.

Gingerly stepping round the felled trees, at least seven, looked like there was a lot of unfinished clearing.

Up into the field and back down to the entrance to Dog Kennel Wood.
There were signs up suggesting we shouldn't walk through the woods as there were gales forecast. We walked down to the Cycle Track meaning to go along and up through the Pinetum but we thought there may be signs warning against going through the Pinetum so we crossed the Stone Bridge and walked back up the hill to the Barn.
Thankfully the forecast rain didn't materialise.
