2012 Evening 5
Saturday 8th September 2012 - Glasson Sailing Club
After a very calm afternoon we were privileged to get some wind by the time the races were due to start. Plus some sunshine too and becoming quite warm. The wind was mainly westerly, F1-2
Five boats took to the water:
Ivan - Laser
John - Enterprise
Michael - GP14
Dave - Topper
John - Hobbit
John Hobbit wasn't ready in time for the first race and Ivan had a gear failure before the race started!
We set the course: Ss - Cs - Gs - Ap - 18s - Ss and decided on two laps.
The race soon developed into a procession with John leading Michael, leading Dave. It ended that way after handicap, John the clear winner.
We were running out of time and wind so we changed the course for the second race: Ss - 18s - Yellow Mooring Buoys - Ss and again two laps
This time the race was much closer and, although we finished in the same order as the first race, Dave on the Topper won after handicap.
After collating the results John Broadhead sailing his Enterprise turned out to be the over all winner with Dave Holmes, Topper, second and Michael Swarbrick, GP14, 3rd (and Last)

We all enjoyed the sailing. Eventually Ivan sailed with John but didn't take part in the racing. Giles was out in his Lytham Post Boat, sailing up stream.
