Sunday 26th February 2012 - Glasson Sailing Club

Nine of us turned up for the racing, including Owen who was the OOD. Ivan had a cold and didn't feel too well so he helped Owen the OOD.
It was a dull day but not to cold and a force 2 south west wind.
Four boats already on the apron preparing to launch. The Martins were a little late but on their way down the slip. John Hobbit was modifying his centreboard controls and wasn't ready for the first race. John & Ian, Bosun, launched in plenty of time but got swept upstream by the strong tidal flow. Michael nearly got caught but he managed to get the start line.
Ivan set the course: Bs - Gs - Ap - 18s - Ss over two laps.
John Enterprise was way ahead but failed to round the first mark so retired. Michael, Topper, leading the Martins, GP14. Ian and David, GP14, got mixed up with the tide and were well behind.
Michael was the first to cross the line and the clear winner of the first race.
Ivan set a new course for the second race: Cs - Bp - Gs - Ss over 3 laps
Scrambling to start the second race,
we all got away to a good start, John Hobbit is just out of the picture.
John Enterprise soon took the lead and lead all the way to the finish beating Michael by fractions of a second after corrected times.
Michael is leading the series with 3 points, Ivan second with 6 1/2 points, the Martins 3rd with 11 points and Ian 4th with 12 points.
