Health Walk - Thursday 1st January

Today was our third New Year's Day walk and it rained yet again!  We keep hoping for a sunny day to start the year but we all set off in good cheer.

The eleven walkers, one more than last year, met in the Beaumont car park and Michael led them off across the main road into Wood End Road aiming for the area at the top of Back Lane where we could enter the Park.

This we achieved and walked along the top and started to drop down to Lower Kem Mill

This Gorse bush stood out as a splash of colour in an otherwise dull winter's day.  It had been mainly dry up to now but the rain started to fall and helped by the wind to make it rather unpleasant over this exposed section.

We had become quite widely dispersed at this point but we all 'closed up' again once we had reached the Mill

Looking back up the Lostock from Lower Kem Mill Bridge.  From here we walked along the Cycle Track and then up Sheephill Lane and back to the Beaumont

Snug and warm in the pub our number was swelled to twenty-two, four more than last year.
