Health Walk - Thursday 28th May

We expected showers but we didn't get any and we had loads of sunshine.   Eleven today.  Carmel, Carole, David H, Dorothy, Elizabeth H, Helen, Jacqueline, Linda E, Michael S, Sandy and Sue.

David elected to lead.  He set off towards the Cinder Path.  Sue disappeared and took Elizabeth with her.  They left us as we walked along to Sue Ryder's drive and walked along the path to the little housing estate and walked a tortuous route on the level - green route.

We traversed the Cinder Path and walked towards Cock Cabin Pond

We were delighted to see two Canada Geese with apparently two goslings - there may have been other hiding.  As they spotted us they swam into the reeds hoping to convince us they were hiding.  I don't remember seeing Canada Geese on the Pond before - there was evidence of their occupation all over the paths.

Emerging from Cock Cabin Wood this lovely pastoral view warmed us, the two magpies are of a group that were playing round the metal guard rails to the left of the scene.

No signs of goslings here, where have they all gone?  The Heron flew across the Lake at head height, south to north.

Having been to Tatton Park the day before, where they have an American Garden, it seems a shame that our American Garden doesn't have the glorious invasive species of Rhododendrons and Azaleas that they have.
