Health Walk - Tuesday 30th June 2015
Photos by Michael - Please click on photos to see a larger one - a good day for photos but I didn't seem inspired today
Hot, luckily the sun didn't come out until we'd reached the safety of the Barn. It was hot!
We only had nine walkers - Carmel, Carol, Frankie, Helen, Jacqueline, Maureen, Michael, Sandy and Sue. It was good to see Frankie for her second walk.
Michael took charge and after receiving agreement set off back down Berkeley Drive and walked along Shady Lane to the stile into the field leading down to Town Brow.
Long before we reached the stile Sue decided it was too much for her so she returned with Carmel looking after her. They did short walk on the level - green route

Jacquie said "You must get a photo of the panoramic view". Photo 1 is taken from the second stile and is a compilation of five photos.

The remaining seven of us agreed to cross over the stepping stones at the Town Brow Picnic Area.

Walking along the river we spotted these flowers in the water
which when it rains must get covered up?

Further along the river, it was nice and dry, it could have been very slippy if it had been raining

As we walked along the Cycle Track we could see work going on on the New Visitors Centre - more photos later

Approaching the Stone Bridge we spotted Elizabeth M with her group of pond dippers. There were lots of children around the Park being looked after by Alison, the Education Secretary and several Education volunteers - Elizabeth M, Sarah among others

Looking for fish or are they just tired? Frankie pointed out some dragonflies which may have been Banded Demoiselles

Today's walks
It is with sadnes that I have to record that we have lost a much loved friend and Health Walk Leader, Bernadette. Bernadette passed away in St. Catherine's Hospice over the weekend after a long struggle, several remissions, but remainig optimistic and positive to the end.
