Overcast and rain was forecast but as you'll see we had a dry walk.
We had 14 walkers today - Barbara, Carmel, Carol, Carole, Elizabeth M, Elizabeth H, Frankie, Irene S, Lawrence, Maureen, Michael, Pat, Paul and Sue.
Michael led off alongside the new visitors centre.

More activity today on the foundations. These should be finished by next week when work will begin erecting the base.
We walked down towards the Stone Bridge and then along the Cycle Track to Cock Cabin Pond. Round the pond and through the wood back onto the Cycle Track and into Walkers' Wood. We emerged from the wood and walked down to the Stone Bridge.
I struggled with my new camera today. I had the 55-300 lens on and I coundn't hold it still and it was too dark to have a faster shutter speed - it's a good lens but only f4.5.

Here Sue wanted to do a shorter walk so Carmel accompanied her - green route - along the Cycle Track to the Wooden Bridge where they followed the route we were to do eventually to finish off our walk.

We walked up to the Lake where we saw the Heron
on the Island.

New flowers are in bloom along the water side of the dam, I think they are Meadowsweet?

We walked round the Lake and up into the field. We dropped down out of the field and entered Dog Kennel Wood

Walking over the bridge we could see the busy bees on the new visitors centre. The Bind Weed is out now.

At the top of Cardiac Hill, why is Maureen pressing ahead?

To reach the seat! We continued along the top of the Pinetum back to the Barn where Carmel and Sue had set out the table and chairs for our refreshments.
It's possible that Pat saw a Kestrel.
