Health Walk - Thursday 3rd September

There were only nine of us today. Carole, David H, Elizabeth H, Jacqueline, James, Linda D, Michael, Peter and Sue. It was James' first walk with us, he promised to come again sometime. The missing regulars were on a trip to Harrogate with the Women's Institute
Bright, dry, occasionally overcast but also lots of sunshine.
David was persuaded to lead again! He managed to produce a new walk! He took us down the Cinder Path and round Cock Cabin Pond. We arrived at the Stone Bridge

where David explained his plans for the rest of the walk.

It was too long for Jacqueline, Peter and Sue who opted to go up Snake Hill back to the Barn, the same way that we all eventually returned. Sue and Jacqueline were actually wiggling their back sides for the camera - green arrows

We took a shortcut across the Picnic Area to the Lake

The ducks were stood on the side and, unusually, seemed quite unconcerned by us.

The mallards are really colorful

The fishermen were out again, there were three groups but I don't think the other one wanted photographing.

This tree, despite losing half of it's roots and lying along the ground continues to flourish

There seems to be more cows this year, all these plus many more in the field in front of the Hall

I wonder how many times the entrance will change or if the house will ever be occupied

Leaving Cam Lane and dropping down into Green Wood.
Having negotiated the eastern path we came back into the field, bypassed the Lake, crossed the Stone Bridge and walked up Snake Hill

Lots of activity today on the new visitors centre
Back to the Hall for our tea/coffee, there were no biscuits! Michael and Sue had forgot to bring them. For once no weight was put back on
