A better than expected morning , warm and sunny.
We had 17 walkers today - Brian, Carole, Damian, Dennis, Frankie, Irene S, Irene T, Lawrence, Linda E, Maureen, Michael, Pat, Paul, Peter, Rose, Sandy and Sue, our highest number on a Tuesday this year. It was Dennis' first walk with us.
We think it was the first time we had as many as seven males.
Michael was leading again. He explained his plans and we set off with a buzz of excitement and a few feelings of apprehension.
He had planned the walk with Barbara N and Irene S in mind but sadly Barbara was working this morning. We progressed down Snake Hill to the Stone Bridge.

The house on the hill, as we'd passed early there were several enthusiasts working hard.

As we reached the junction with the path over the Wooden Bridge Brian, Peter and Sue elected to make back home to the Barn up Cardiac Hill - green route. Peter took this photo looking back down the path.
We carried on until we had almost reached the Town Brow car park. He we divided up again Linda E and Sandy electing to walk back along the east side of the river to meet up with us later.

The more challenging stepping stones! However we negotiated them without any problems, once we had got on the the first stone it was slightly easier.

Linda an Sandy rejoined us and we pressed on through the jungle alongside the river.

Nearly out of the woods.
Time was marching on so we avoided the temptation to walk up into Gravel Hole Wood and crossed the Wooden Bridge and back to the Barn via Cardiac Hill.

This sign is on display in the foyer of the Barn, we had certainly shown we are braver and stronger than we imagined.
Again most walkers seemed to have enjoyed the morning. Dennis, Rose's husband, said he was going to join us on a regular basis when he retired in May.
