Photos by Michael - Please click on photos to see a larger one Twenty-one enthusiastic walkers this miserable damp and drizzly morning, the most since April 2014 - Ann, Bernadette D, Carmel, Carol, Carole, Colin D, David H, Elizabeth M, Frankie, Graham, Helen, Ian, Irene S, Jacqueline, Linda D, Linda E, Mary, Michael, Paul, Peter and Sue. It was damp as we arrived with spots of rain but we weren't deterred in fact we were quite excited as we had such a big turnout. David took the lead again.
We walked up past the Ponderosa and dropped down into Green Wood. Along the top and down the steps. The steps were more like a stream as water was flowing all the way down. Back into the field, the drizzle had now set in as we walked against the wind. We continued down to the Stone Bridge and back up Snake Hill to the Barn. Jacqueline, Peter & Sue walked along the river to just past the Covert Pond and returned to the Barn via the Pinetum. We enjoyed our tea/coffee and biscuits in the corner of the foyer. Carmel said she would make enquiries at the Ley Inn for our New Year's Day lunch as there had been misgivings expressed about the Beaumont Michael Swarbrick |
