Health Walk - Tuesday 1st December 2015

The rain held off and we walked on metalled paths where possible
Again we had 13 walkers - Carmel, Carole, Frankie, James, Linda E, Linda P, Lawrence, Michael, Pat, Pete, Peter, Sandy and Sue. It was Pete's first walk with us this year, perhaps for a couple of years. He's a volunteer usually working somewhere in the Park or on the visitors centre
Michael was leading and we set off towards the Wooden Bridge. We walked up past the viewing area where we saw a couple of squirrels and a Nuthatch on the bird feeder.
We turned right and walked along the Cycle Track. At the Covert Pond Peter and Sue turned back. The rest of us pressed on, with interruptions to fuss over dogs, until we reached Sheephill. Here Carole decided that, as she was going to be busy in the afternoon, she wouldn't climb up Sheephill.

We arrived at the top and crossed into Cam Lane

Much to Michael's disappointment the start of Cam Lane
was like a pond with stepping stones however it improved as we got past the pond above, not usually much water but the heavy rains have filled up the ditch to make a larger expanse of water.

On to the dry stretch.

The same water but from the side
We walked past the Ponderosa, down into the Field and walked along the east side of the Lake.

The Ford is somewhere under the water.
We walked over the Stone Bridge and up Snake Hill and back to the Barn.
Peter, leading the short walk, with Sue had walked past the front of the Hall and down the drive to Cuerden Close then into Shady Lane turning up into Berkeley Drive and back to the Barn.
I didn't photograph the Visitors Centre as the recent weather has held up progress. Everyone seemed to be out sweeping up leaves this morning.
I think everyone enjoyed the walk and the rain held off. It was quite a pleasant morning but not inspiring for photographs.
