Health Walk - Tuesday 5th January 2016

An interesting morning, a few drops of rain now and then, brighter than of late and blue skies, Sue and Peter had lots of sunshine.  Pat and Lawrence taking a short cut saw a rainbow..

Today we had eighteen walkers - Bernadette, Carmel, Carol, Carole, Elizabeth M, Frankie, Graham, Irene S, James, Judy, Lawrence, Linda E, Maureen, Michael, Pat, Paul, Peter and Sue.   Elizabeth H came to walk but decided that she didn't want to sneeze over everyone so did a walk on her own.

Eighteen is the most we've had on a Tuesday since 25th February 2014 and is a good omen for the coming year.

Michael was leading and we set off into the Pinetum.  Before we left the Pinetum Peter, leading the short walk, and Sue walked up to the car park and along the side of the Hall, down the Drive and along Shady Lane coming back to the Barn up Berkeley Drive - green route

We carried on to the the Wooden Bridge and turned right to walk up into Gravel Hole Wood.  

We passed through Dog Kennel Wood and walked up into the Field and down the steps to the Lake

The Canada Geese have returned to the Lake.

We walked round the Lake, round the Picnic Area and over the Stone Bridge.  Here Lawrence and Pat decided to walk up Snake Hill back the the Barn.  We carried on along the Cycle Track to Cock Cabin Wood.

Leaving Cock Cabin Pond we split up the Leader going down Walkers Wood and a few returning down the easier route, the Cycle Track.  We joined up again to walk up Snake Hill.

John has got a new apprentice, Ian.  Ian has been wanting to help out on the new visitors centre for some time.

Back at the Barn we again enjoyed our refreshments.
