Health Walk - Thursday 14th January 2016

Today we had fifteen walkers - Ann, Carmel, David H, Frankie, Helen F, Helen G, Irene S, Jacqueline, James, Mary, Michael, Paul, Peter, Sue and Wendy. We welcomed Helen G back, it was good to see her; she has been missed as a friend and leader
It was Victorian Day for the schoolchildren and Elizabeth M was on education duties.
A lovely morning, bright sunshine but a bit nippy. Many of the Park's footpaths are still sodden, it had rained overnight which didn't help.
David led us off into the Pinetum and down over the Wooden Bridge. Peter leading the short walk went up to the viewing area and then left the Pinetum by the gate next to the new visitirs entre. They walked in front of the Hall, down Berkeley Drive along Shady Lane into Cuerden Close back to Shady lane - green route - returning to follow the red route
The rest of us walked in the opposite direction

This view is hidden by the leaves as the year progresses. I didn't notice the Jelly Ear funghi until I saw the photo on the screen. It is surprising what is revealed when photos are enlarged.

Jacqueline had done well so far but she decided that it was time to cut the walk short so Carmel went with her for safety - blue route - up Snake Hill to the Barn.
