Today we had seventeen walkers - Ann, Bernadette, Carmel, Carole, Colin D, David, Graham, Gwen, Helen G, Jacqueline, Jennifer, Joyce, Linda D, Linda E, Michael, Peter and Suzie.
We had a pleasant walk on a lovely summer's morning.
David was leading again and he set off towards the Stone Bridge intending to walk up round the back of Green Wood.

We walked up the slope beside the Dam into the Field. Here Peter led the short walkers back round the south and west sides of the Lake and preceded us on our return journey except they walked across the Picnic Area and omitted Walkers Wood.
At Hawks Clough we climbed up to the Ponderosa
Photo 5
Having passed the Ponderosa the 'building site atmosphere' round the place is depressing - spoiled this photo.

this scene caught my eye.

As we leave the Field there is this remarkable tree on the left. Despite being, presumably, blown over with apparently more than half of its roots broken away it continues to thrive.

Walking round the Lake and the bottom of the Dam. The Rhododendrons are blooming in the Park

There are more Orchids now along the bottom of the Dam.
We crossed the Stone Bridge again and walked up into Walkers Wood

As we left Walkers Wood these walkers decided to miss out on Cock Cabin Wood and Pond.
