Only thirteen walkers today - Bernadette, Elizabeth H, Frankie, Graham, Irene T, James, Lawrence, Linda P, Michael, Muriel, Pat, Suzie, Sylvia and Alison's Freddie (the dog).
I say only thirteen but last years average was only 11, this year we are averaging 17!
Michael was leading the Main Group, Suzie the short walk and Lawrence was Back Marker for the main walk. It was very very warm and very bright sunshine so we tried to find walks in the shade.
We walked past the front of the Hall and through the kissing gate down to the Stone Bridge.
We crossed the Stone Bridge, walked along the bottom of the Dam and climbed up to the Lake. We walked round the Lake to the entrance to Dog Kennel Wood and climbed up into it.
Suzie and Elizabeth, after crossing the Stone Bridge walked along the Cycle Track to the Covert Pond.
We walked into and out of Gravel Hole Wood and followed Suzie and Elizabeth along the Cycle Track.
Suzie and Elizabeth passed the Covert Pond and sat for a while on the seat just into the filed past the wood.
We entered the wood and walked back along the river to the Wooden Bridge.

Pausing on the bridge we spotted these tiddlers!
Suddenly I realised I hadn't taken any photos! Too busy being the leader and surviving the heat.

Almost home
1.91 miles, our shortest long walk for a long time,
Suzie and Elizabeth retraced their steps and followed our route over the Wooden Bridge.
