No Photos by Michael today! Today we only had ten walkers, many walkers are looking after grandchildren and some are on holiday however it was raining very hard - David, Frankie, Helen G, John W, Margaret W, Michael, Linda E, Peter, Sandy and Suzie. Wet again! It was commented that perhaps this was the wettest walk since we started walking? However we all enjoyed the walk, splashing through the many puddle, some were quite deep. I was surprised how much standing water there was around.
The rain was quite persistent as we crossed the M6 and went under the M65 to enter the north area. Meanwhile Peter and company had left us on Sue Ryder Drive, walked round the Hall and down to the Stone Bridge.
Determined not to go back down the Cinder Path because of the puddles and mud, David led us round Cock Cabin Pond and down towards the Stone Bridge. We climbed Snake Hill into the wind and rain with brollies ahead of us hiding the view and Snake Hill didn't seem quite so daunting. We passed the new building marvelling at how it was coming on and eagerly anticipating the time when we could be using its facilities.
Thank you David for getting us out and keeping us walking despite the conditions. We kept up a good pace and Frankie commented that our pace is improving all the time. Michael Swarbrick |
