Health Walk - Thursday 10th November 2016

Today we had twenty-two walkers - Ann, Bernadette, Carmel, Colin C, Colin D, David, Graham, Helen F, Helen G, Irene S, James, Jean, Jennifer, John W, Linda E, Margaret W, Mary, Michael, Paul, Sandy, Suzie, Zandra and Jean's dog.
Everywhere was wet but it was bright with blue skies as we set off.
John was leading, Margaret was back marker and Suzie led the short walk. It was John's first walk as leader and Margaret's as back marker.
We set off down the sunny side of the Hall walking round to the front

and down the Drive to the Cinder Path

Walking along the Cycle Track, national Route 55, we entered Cock Cabin Wood

and through the wood

We came back out on to the Cycle Track

and descended into Walkers Wood

Emerging from Walkers Wood back on to the Cycle Track

Diverting to miss the puddle on the direct route to the Stone Bridge. Reaching the Stone Bridge John took us further along the Cycle Track

And then the rains came down!

Next we climbed up into Gravel Hole Wood
going on into Dog Kennel Wood. Now raining quite steadily

Emerging from Dog Kennel Wood we walked down the slope
missing out the Lake because of the rain we

went straight to the Stone Bridge

and climbed up Snake Hill back to the Barn for tea/coffee and biscuits.
Suzie's group walked into the Pinetum and down to the Wooden Bridge
They walked up into Gravel Hole Wood, through Dog Kennel Wood and down to the Stone Bridge.
Over the Stone Bridge, up Snake Hill round the Hall and back to the Barn.
Everyone seemed to have enjoyed the walks.
