Health Walk - Tuesday 6th December 2016

A dull damp day with a chill but we had thirty walkers - a new record.
Carmel was leading, Margaret was back marker and Peter led the short walk, six today

The car park was full and I took these as I walked to the Barn from the farthest car places. You can see the roll of electric cable which means the building will soon have electricity. The electricity is coming from the photovoltaic cells on the roof of the tractor garageadjacent to the Walled Orchard.

We set off into the Pinetum and down to the Wooden Bridge.
Peter led his group down Snake Hill and across the Stone Bridge up the slope to the Lake

Here they met the main walkers descending from Dog Kennel wood. They walked up into Dog Kennel Wood then through Gravel Hole Wood to the Wooden Bridge and up Cardiac Hill then up the steep path to the new building.
From there they walked round the front of the Hall and back to the Barn
The main walk entered the Field and walked up to Hawks Clough.

As we approached the Ponderosa Zandra said what are those berries and then she noticed that the berries weren't on the ivy clad tree but on a tree growing behind
Passing the Ponderosa we dropped down into Green Wood and walked up and round and back to Hawks Clough.
We retraced our steps through the Field and down the slope to the Picnic Area

Crossing the Stone Bridge and walking up Snake Hill we arrived back at the Barn

There was more excitement as the shingles for the new building roof had arrived.
