Today we had thirty-five walkers! Twenty-eight for the main walk and seven for the short walk
"It was a cold day - we hit the only dry spell between early morning sleet and latterly snow showers - very lucky" - Sheila
Carmel led the main group with Michael S back marker.

She set off up the Car Park, passed the infamous machine, to enter the Pinetum near the Tree Sculpture.

The Elite group set off down the side of the Visitors Centre into the Pinetum and followed the Elite group down Cardiac Hill turning right then left up the hill into Gravel Hole Wood

We came out of Dog Kennel Wood and passed through the Kissing Gate

only to go down the steps to the Lake.

people being disappointed by the tree felling allegedly demanded by the Reservoir Inspectorate. It was said this had been done to a similar dam and the roots, which had been holding the dam together, rotted away and the dam collapsed.

Leaving the Lake to walk along the bottom of the Dam, round the Picnic Area and over the Stone Bridge. Here the Elite walkers continued on up Snake Hill to be first back to the Visitors Centre/Cafe before the crowd got there, and before the sleet/rain/snow came.
The main group continued up through Walkers Wood, along the Cycle Path to the Cinder Path, along the Cinder Path,

the Hall Drive, round the Hall and back to the Visitors Centre/Cafe

Where there are green arrows on the red route it means the Elite walkers had followed the main >> or the main group had followed the Elite walkers >>. similarly for the blue arrows
