The Elite group went down Snake Hill but immediately turned up the path to the Hall,

left then left around the barn to reach Barclay Drive.
Cut across towards Walled Orchard, up the slope to the Viewing Area and down steps to join Cardiac Hill just above Monkey Puzzle tree.

to go round the west side of lake.
They spotted a heron with a long strand of something - possibly for the nest. Second Heron in nest. Down long steps, back to ascend Snake Hill from a Stone Bridge full of pond dippers, back to the Visitors Centre.
Today's walks (Red Main Group, Green Short Walk Option Group).
Where there are green arrows on the red route it means the Elite walkers had followed the main >> or the main group had followed the Elite walkers >>.
