There are the Elite walkers. They soon let us passed as we entered Wilbrahams Wood.
Beth: "John led(the Elite group), we walked across the front of Cuerden Hall round the stable block to Berkeley Drive, up the drive and took the narrow path through the shrubs onto the track above the Pinetum, turned down Cardiac, crossed the river, then right onto the cycle track, up year hill through Gravel Hole & Dog Kennel Woods, to the lake, walked round the lake to the long steps, then back to the stone bridge, up Snake, to the cafe (Visitors Centre). (We were) accompanied by Meg & George. I back-marked."

We came out on to the Hall Drive and walked down the Cinder Path, here we're on the Cycle Path and Jimmy is checking we're all OK.
We carried on the Cycle Path to cross the Stone Bridge

Another pause to check all's well

The river looked fresh and clean over the Ford. We continued along the Cycle Path leaving it to walk along he river

One or two very muddy patches

now clear of the mud

The Stepping Stones, no Jimmy didn't take us across. Notice the wooden stakes driven into the bank to form a wall to stop the bank eroding. Look carefully and you'll see they are growing! A Willow stick, branch even though it is apparently prepared to be a stake will start to grow again
Jimmy decided that it would be too wet to cross the stones and walk along the field

After a pause for breather he led up down the Cycle Path to Town Brow Car Park which we rounded

Frankie said you're nearly at the top now Michael, I was flagging.
We walked down Shady Lane back to the Visitors Centre
Today's walks (Red Main Group, Green Short Walk Option Group).
Where there are green arrows on the red route it means the Elite walkers had followed the main >> or the main group had followed the Elite walkers >>. similarly for the blue arrows
