Health Walk - Tuesday 5th November
Photos by Michael S & Sheila T - Please click on photos to see a larger one
Twenty-nine long walkers led by Carmel and back marked by James enjoyed the long walk on a rather gloomy autumn morning.
Carmel outlined her plans and introduced James as back marker.
She set off down Snake Hill but turned to go round the Hall, which is now up for sale - Grade 2 listed building so I expect we'll soon hear a report that the new buyer regrets that it has burnt down unless of course the buyer is allowed to convert it to luxury flats which may still need it to be razed to the ground.
(The Hall only has twenty or so residents so obviously it is too expensive to run. I believe the residents are being transferred to somewhere in Fulwood)
Down the Drive, along the Cinder Path, over the M6, along the A49, under the M65 and into the north area of the Park.
Anti-clockwise round the path

Leaving the pond behind and skirting the closed car park Carmel began the climb backup to the A49

Waiting for everyone to get through the kissing gate before striking off back into the central area of the Park.
Carmel avoided going into Cock Cabin Wood but went down into Walkers. I, Michael, took a short cut to get in front to take more photos. If you believe that you'll be surprised to know the above was a smokescreen to cover the fact that I find going down Walker Wood a challenge for my knees and I was getting tired any way.

Nearly over now. While most walkers went into the Visitors Centre I got into the car to drive home and relieve the 'babysitter'.

Where there are green arrows on the red route it means the Elite walkers had followed the main >> or the main group had followed the Elite walkers >>. similarly for the blue arrows
