Health Walk - Tuesday 25th February

Sheila T: "On a morning that started wet and cold and ended with the sun shining thirty seven came on our walks this morning. Jimmy led twenty seven on the longer walk back marked by Irene accompanied by Wesley our longer walking canine friend. Margaret led the Elite walkers plus Charlie our canine friend with Brian back marking. Thanks to our leaders and back markers today. "

Jimmy introduced himself and Irene his backmarker with his usual flourish and

then set off down Snake Hill. Later we found out that the Elite Group had followed us.
He branched left before the Stone Bridge leading us up Bikers Hill and continuing along the Cycle track over the M6 and

across the Car Park to walk along the A49, under the M65 and into the north area of the Park. Turning left after the remains of the old Cinder Path down to the lowest part of the Park near Stag Lodge

After a rest once we had negotiated the Kissing Gate at the Stag Lodge Car Park

he continued clockwise round the perimeter

and climbing up the Hill, in the pouring rain against the wind, we came back out on to the A49 and retraced our steps over the M6 turning right to enter

back to the Visitors Centre
Margaret W: Elite Walk: "We set off down snake hill, over the stone bridge, left to the steps up to the reservoir, left to the steps to the field, right to the gate and through dog kennel wood and gravel hole wood. Then following the river back to snake hill and back to the café/(Visitors Centre)"
