Health Walk - Thursday 12th January 2017

Today we had thirty walkers for a miserable wet morning but it didn't deter us
Margaret W was leading the main walk with John W as back marker. Suzie was leading the Elite walk.

Margaret led us off into the Pinetum

and we made our way down Cardiac hill, over the Wooden Bridge turning left on to

the Cycle Track

and walking along the river to the Stone Bridge.
We crossed the Stone Bridge and headed up Bikers Hill to Cock Cabin Wood. We walked through the wood, round the pond and

returned to the Stone Bridge via Walkers Wood where we met the Elite walkers following our route but somewhat leisurely

Margaret led us straight to the entrance of Dog Kennel Wood which we climbed up into.

You can see the Hall now that the leaves have fallen

We carried on into Gravel Hole Wood and found our way back to the Wooden Bridge

We crossed the Wooden Bridge and climbed up Cardiac Hill
turning immediately right as we entered the Pinetum and followed the steep path

alongside the new building.

then Margaret surprised us and started off back towards the Stone Bridge

but she turned of the main path

and took us round the 'sunny' side of the Hall back to the Barn - here you can make out the hail stone slashes
The Elite walkers entered Walkers Wood after they left us but turned left on emerging and made their way back to Snake Hill climbing back up to the Barn
