Photos by Sandy - Please click on photos to see a larger one Today we had twenty-three walkers for another very windy but dry day. Rain threatened. John was leading the main walk with Margaret as back marker. Carmel was again leading the Elite walk. It was fairly windy and John consulted with the walkers to obtain their permission to walk through woodland. It was unanimously agreed to do so. He led off into the Pinetum, across the Wooden Bridge turning right then left up into Gravel Hole Wood Leaving Gravel Hole Wood they entered Dog Kennel Wood and dropped down to the Lake
Walking along the Dam they left the Lake by the steep steps and walked along the bottom of the Dam, crossed the Stone Bridge and climbed up into Walkers Wood. Leaving Walkers Wood they entered Cock Cabin Wood and walked round the pond emerging back on the the Cycle Track and walking along to the Cinder Path They walked up Sue Ryder Drive passing the front of the Hall, along the side and back of the Hall back to the Barn The Elite walkers today were Carmel and Colin. They walked round the Hall, down Snake Hill, crossing the Stone Bridge and walked along the along the Valley floor enjoying the river. They reached the Wooden Bridge and climbed up Cardiac Hill, through the Pinetum back to the Barn. Colin was glad not to have to walk on any uneven ground because of his shoulder. He hasn't got the usual balance with it strapped up. Hopefully he'll be fully fit again soon. The walks were enjoyed by all!
