Health Walk - Tuesday 14th February 2017

It was a lovely morning for a walk with plenty of sunshine.
Forty-one walkers today. John W was leading, Margaret W was back marker, Carmel mid marker and Peter leading the Elite walk, nine today.

Emerging on to the Cycle Track we walked along and entered Cock Cabin Wood

Leaving the Pond we walked through the wood and entered Walkers Wood coming out back on to the Cycle Track. Crossing the Stone Bridge
we climbed up the long steps to the Lake

The Black Headed Gulls, who have been white headed all winter, are starting to show their summer plumage

Michael spotted the Heron flying up into the trees on the island but didn't manage to get the camera working in time

John took us up the steps and down to the entrance to Dog Kennel Wood

Michael keeps trying to get an in-focus new building through the trees as we walk through the wood. We left the woods and walked to the Wooden Bridge

Starting to climb Cardiac Hill, you can now see the shingles on the cafe roof

Michael did a short detour to see if there were any birds on the feeders only to find another group of walkers, all female of a certain age, had disturbed them.
Peter led the Elite walkers round the front of the Hall and down Snake Hill, along the bottom of the Dam, leading the route the main group were to follow shortly afterwards.
As they reached the Pinetum they walked up and round the side of the Pinetum to the new building and then back to the Barn.
