Carmel was leading, Michael S was back marker and Peter W leading the Elite walk, eight today including two new walkers. Carmel led us into the Pinetum and down over the Wooden Bridge turning right then left up into Gravel Hole Wood. We walked through Gravel Hole Wood into Dog Kennel Wood emerging to climb up into the Field and dropped down to the Lake. We walked along the Lake and down to the Stone Bridge. We crossed the Stone Bridge and walked up the slope to Walkers Wood. Carmel cut the walk short as the rain was rather wet she turned left and walked down Bikers Hill across and up Snake Hill. Unbelievably Murphy's Law came into action and the rain stopped and we had some sunshine.
Peter led the Elite walkers in the opposite direction to the main group by going down Snake Hill. They went up to the Lake and then into Dog Kennel Wood, Gravel Hole Wood, Wooden Bridge and up Cardiac Hill. Peter led the more able/less tired walkers up round the Viewing Area but the others took a less hazardous route through the middle of the Pinetum . We all arrived back at the Barn for our refreshments where we were rather crammed into the corner of the atrium and again the noise was deafening.
