Health Walk - Thursday 23rd March 2017

Today we had thirty-one walkers. That includes Chorley Harry who was assessing Margaret's qualities as a leader and Pat W and Paul W their first walk with us.
Margaret W was leading the main walk with John W as back marker.
Suzie was leading the Short Walk.
Margaret avoided the Cinder Path because it was guaranteed to be wet and muddy after all the rain since Tuesday
We walked round the sunny side of the Hall and down Snake Hill.
The Short Walk Group started into Pinetum climbing up to the Viewing Area, down the steps up round the side of the new building to walk down Snake Hill. They carried on over the Stone Bridge and up into Dog Kennel Wood whereas we turned up into Walkers Wood and then Cock Cabin Wood.
We walked round the pond and then down Bikers Hill crossing the Stone Bridge and climbing the steps up to the Lake.

to the entrance to Dog Kennel Wood. Here Margaret is waiting for us all to get through the kissing gate.

We climbed up into the the wood following the Short Walk Group who were now long gone.

Coming down between Gravel Hole Wood and Black Banks Wood to join the Cycle Track, over the Wooden Bridge and up Cardiac Hill.
As we entered the Pinetum we turned up to the new building,

the Short Group walkers had already been up here, and crossed the car park back to the Barn.

Peter ? is taking a photo of the new roof. Peter has worked on the project from the start! It looks like all the shingles are in place waiting for the ridge tiles.
The Short Walk Group had carried on into the Pinetum and took a short cut up to the Tree Man and back to the Barn.
